Episode 318 :: Robert M. Ellis :: The Buddha’s Middle Way: Experiential Judgement in his Life and Teaching

Robert M. Ellis

Robert M. Ellis returns to the podcast to speak about his new book, The Buddha’s Middle Way: Experiential Judgement in his Life and Teaching.

Buddha’s guidance was clear: avoid extremes, live a life of balance in the middle way. In the complexities of life, though, rests a question about how to find that path. What might the Buddha sasana have to say about discerning that road, and how to take it?

Robert M. Ellis is philosophical writer, who has earned a living by teaching and tutoring a variety of subjects. He has been developing Middle Way Philosophy since 1997, initially from a Ph.D. thesis, and has published a number of books on the subject, including the 4 volume Middle Way Philosophy series (2012-15), the introductory book Migglism (2014), The Christian Middle Way (2018) and The Buddha’s Middle Way (due out in July 2019). He was formerly a member of the Triratna Buddhist Order, but is no longer committed to any one religious tradition, though inspired by elements of both Buddhism and Christianity. Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Psychology, Politics and the arts are also all very important to him.

So, sit back, relax, and have a nice Middle of the Road tea.
