Any advise on how to "read" the Lotus Sutra. The language is fine and good and to be honest this is the first Sutra I have read. I find that the flow is somewhat wordy (it's like reading a Tolkien novel 😊). I do have the Middle Length Discourses that I will begin shortly but went into the Lotus Sutra as I had it as a PDF already.
I'm not particularly familiar with the Lotus Sutra, since my practice and study of Buddhism centers around the older talks passed on via Theravada, but I thought I ought to say how strongly I agree with you about the wordiness. You got a laugh out of me with your Tolkien comment.
The Middle Length Discourses are a great way to start diving in. If you check back in here I hope you'll let us know how you're getting along with it.
